Use the options in the Timeline Cut/Paste Special Preferences dialog box to select the properties you want to copy from one selection of frames and cells in the Timeline window to another. You can also use this dialog to cut or paste selected content from a template into your scene, selecting the options you want to update with the template, such as drawings, exposure, keyframes or color palettes.
To open the Timeline Cut/Paste Special Preferences dialog box while copying frames in the Timeline:
1. Select the frames you want to copy.
If the Single Cell Selection preference is inactive, press the [Option] button as you select a single frame or a range of frames,
2. Select Edit > Copy Cell.
3. Advance the red frame slider to the frame where you want to paste the frames. Do not release the selected elements. If you accidentally de-select the elements, re-select them.
4. Select Edit > Paste Special. The Timeline Paste Special Preferences dialog box opens.
To open the Paste Special dialog box while copying templates to the Timeline:
1. Select the template in the Library and select Edit > Copy Template.
2. In the Timeline, select the elements you want to paste the template onto.
You must select the same number and hierarchy of elements as are in the template. Otherwise you won’t be able to complete the paste operation. You can check the contents of a template. Control-click the template and select Properties.
3. Select Edit > Paste Special. The Paste Special dialog box opens.
